Terms and Conditions of Membership
1) The terms and conditions posted here,
set out the rules by which IATAM membership is governed. These rules may from time to time change and any
such changes will be posted here on this website. It is a member's responsibility to keep up to date with
these terms and conditions. LAST

2) Membership is open to anyone who runs training courses or provides counseling or
other services in the area of verbal, physical or psychological aggression management. This includes verbal
diffusion techniques, tactical communications skills, physical self preservation, self defense, breakaway training,
control and restraint, anger management, prevention of and coping with bullying, mediation, counseling and other
methods of dealing with aggression.
3) Membership is available at various levels dependant of the level of involvement
that the member has with the subject as defined by the following membership classes:
Fellow - A fellow will be
a full voting member with all rights. A full member must earn their living or be substantially engaged on a time
basis in the teaching of verbal, physical or psychological aggression management techniques. They will be entitled
to a full listing on the IATAM website. They will be able to attend all normal IATAM meetings. They will be
entitled to use the designation FIATAM.
Member – A member will
have voting rights. They must teach verbal, physical or psychological aggression management techniques on a part
time basis. They will be listed in the IATAM membership directory. They will be able to attend all IATAM meetings.
They will be entitled to use the designation MIATAM.
Associate – An associate
will NOT have voting rights – They must have an interest in verbal, physical or psychological aggression management
techniques. They will be able to attend all normal IATAM meetings. They will be entitled to use the designation
AIATAM.
Student Member – A
student member will not have voting rights. They must be studying verbal or physical aggression management
techniques on a part time basis. They will be able to attend all normal IATAM meetings.
Founder Member – A
founder member was a member of either of the classes of Fellow or Member who joined IATAM before the 1st July 2004
– Founder Members will be acknowledged as such on the IATAM website and may use the designation FFIATAM (Founder
member and Fellow of the International Association of Trainers in Aggression Management) or FMIATAM (Founder member
of the International Association of Trainers in Aggression Management)
4) Membership of IATAM is for a period of one year. On the anniversary of being
granted membership the annual fee will be payable in order to renue membership. A renewal notice (via email) will
be sent to remind members to renew - it is a members responsibility to renew and IATAM cannot be heald liable if
for whatever reason notification of renewal is not received by a member.
5) The various member designations FFIATAM, FMIATAM, FIATAM, MIATAM and AIATAM may
only be used by members who have current membership.
6) As a Fellow, a member may have an optional page on the IATAM website (The member
must provide the HTML webpage in a way that is suitable for display) - The page can link to the members website as
long as it does this by opening a new browser window. The annual fee for the webpage and link will be payable
directly to our website design providers Winghigh Limited.
No inappropriate material shall be used in the member's page. Inappropriate material
would include images likely to cause offence or text that is inflamatory or denigrates or otherwise impunes other
members of IATAM or other Aggression Management professionals.
Inappropriate material will be refused at
the discretion of the webmaster or membership secretary.
The member agrees to indemnify IATAM against any claim or liability arising from
anything they have included in their webpage.
7) A Member will have an optional listing in the on-line members directory and this
listing can link to the member's website. The annual fee for the link will be payable
directly to our website design providers Winghigh Limited.
8) Membership may be refused to anyone that the membership secretary feels is not
suitable. Any refusal of membership will be explained.
9) If a member is convicted of any criminal
act or does anything to bring IATAM into disrepute his membership may be terminated.
